As the Utah Islanders' team blogger, I'm thrilled to share about our new pro development football team, the Utah Islanders, based in Herriman, Utah. Our goal is to highlight and enhance the talents of Utah's undervalued athletes, propelling them towards collegiate or professional success. More than just a team, the Utah Islanders represent a family, deeply rooted in the values of the Polynesian Islands. We're committed to embodying the strength, culture, and family ties of the Pacific Islanders community. Our focus isn't just on athletes; we also aim to cultivate careers in coaching, sports administration, and other related fields, providing invaluable real-world experience. To ensure we stay true to our community values, we have formed an advisory board consisting of prominent Pacific Islanders with strong Utah connections. In a gesture of unity and commitment, we're offering shares in the Utah Islanders to the Utah Pacific Islanders community. Our first season kicks off in May 2024. Being an independent team gives us the flexibility to arrange matches with Junior College teams, encouraging competitive growth. Training sessions will be at Zions Bank Training Center, Herriman, with home games at Skyline High School. We invite everyone to join our journey, whether as a player, professional, fan, or community member. This is an opportunity to be part of a movement that celebrates Pacific Islanders culture, nurtures talent, and strives for excellence both on and off the field.
